Panel Discussion: Keeping It Real: Turning Gurus into Friends & Friends into Gurus with Yogrishi Vishvketu, Laura Plumb, Wah!, and Sreedevi Bringi
While honoring the time-tested path of guru-discipleship and gurukula (guru's teaching seminary) in genuine parampara (guru lineages), the panel examines the pros and cons of the guru model for Western yoga. Join us in the Community Tent for an inspiring conversation on our relationship with our gurus.

Some themes we'll explore:

  • How to identify “the guru game” and avoid it; includes the impact of the guru-disciple tradition in India upon western yoga and how to keep all yoga relationships respectful and beneficial.
  • How to craft clear and respected boundaries with a generous heart; includes identifying the spiritual bubble and how to expand beyond, be genuinely inclusive, and curious about others. Learn how to stay aware that the world of yoga is one world within many.
  • How to be real, engaged, and a positive influencer in this time of social media, and how to identify who else is being real versus narcissistic or transactional.
  • How friendship helps your Yoga and your Seva to the world, and how to invest in that as a true value.
A FREE offering for our community.
